I started building Aluminium Guitar Bodies several years ago. Being a fully qualified Metal Fabricator (Aluminium and Stainless Steel Specialist) it seemed only natural to build a guitar body out of Aluminium. My first Aluminium body was made out of curiosity with a second hand neck and used pickups and pick guard, and to my surprise (and everyone else's) it played and sounded as good as any other tele I had played but the sound was unique. So then I decided to let some professional player's have a play and their comments were that they were very impressed. Scince i have started building Aluminium guitars, i have also started rebuilding timber bodied guitars as well, people are not used to the idea of Aluminium for the body of the guitar but it has a unique sound of its own which is not possible with a timber body.
